But will it make Norm anti-American?

Malcolm Glazer poised to take over Man U.

Interviewed by the BBC this morning, a member of the Supporters Club said this event was bad not just for United but for all the Premiership.

An Altrincham fan says, "Still, I'm sure there's a downside to this."

Fuck 'em, I say. Your company (footbal team, in this case) is floated on the stock exchange. Anyone, therefore, is free to buy or sell shares in this company, providing that they have a buyer/seller. In the case of ManU, someone has decided he wants these shares and others have decided to sell them theirs - story over!
The idea that ManU have been anything other than a multinational global corporation for the last few decades is laughable.
As I said at the beginning, fuck 'em!

Hmm... was listening this morning to Nicky Campbell mocking a United fan for proclaiming that the scenes of protest yesterday represented the working-class revolt against big business in football.

The idea is that a supporters run club will come to the fore out of this scenario. Taking with them the spirit, if not the actual objects, of the Sir Matt Busby statue and the stopped clock marking the Munich air disaster.

And in the meantime, Glazer calmly sits back and ponders how quickly he can get the remaining 20% of shares he needs to take the club into private American hands; Nottingham Forest consider how anyone could take them further into debt and still remain successful; Cambridge Utd look enviously at everyone above them; and Wigan are still too busy blindly celebrating.

Nice to have you back at the helm of blogging - trust that you and yours are suitably on the road to recovery.
