It's been a week of grimness and pain... and that was just the Live 8 concert!
I wonder if any of you have relatives or friends in London and if everybody is allright.

Hi Jordi--

As you can see, Griff is still with us.

Our nephew Oliver was in work for 6.00 a.m. that morning, so missed the rush hour, and our cousin Damon has been reporting on events for ITN News, so we have everyone accounted for. Thanks for asking.

the father of one of the kids i teach was in the second carriage of the kings cross train - the bomb was on the first one, apparently. i spoke to his wife the next day - she said he was badly shaken, had been in hospital twice with breathing difficulties due to smoke inhalation and was saying he'd never use the tube again.

all of my friends and loved ones reported in safe within an hour or two but it was a weird day.

what remains, apart from the sadness and the anger, is a quiet determination to get on with life to show them that they can't beat us down.

By "they," Griff, I assume you mean your pupils. ;0)
