Oops!

I forgot that in between the two books mentioned below, I read Dario Fo's delightful autobiography, My First Seven Years (Plus a Few More), a work made all the more pertinent by this.

I think it Neil Kinnock who said it was important for all politicians to have a hinterland, by which I think he meant some background and experience in something other than politics.

Dario Fo as Mayor of Milan and Kinky Friedman as Governor of Texas. Hinterlands don't come much deeper or varied.
