Correct me if I'm wrong but back when C.P. Scott were a lad in the Grauniad there was a correspondence about a suitable epitaph for Maggie T and the one that caught me was "Licensed for Dancing".
I think that's the first use of the phrase (well it's definitely the first use known to me). I think it was in 1990ish.
Is there some old tyrant's home in Gornal staffed by graduates of the Mildred Ratched School of Nursing?
