JJ and I have messed up with this one (well, she may say I have). I'm on parental duties tomorrow night when they're in London. And I'm playing football on Saturday, so can't make Leicester on friday or Leeds on Saturday night. Bugger!
The Johnnies have a bunch of new stuff up on their MySpace site. The new Mekons album, Natural is out in August, I think.
Did you get your alias from the Three Johns album of the same name? They're my favourite band of all time, which should tell you my vintage, sex, politics; everything, really.
Pretty much snap. But the alias is from the song, which I think is cracking and again symbolises ... well as you say, politics, vintage, etc...
Prescient lyrics too, I always think. Still, as good was:
"Come on, All you thinking men
Come on, All you thinking women too
In this crazy world of ours there must be something you can do"
Well overdue a CD re release, or just a download. I got the greatest hits (!) CD a year or two ago and was just annoyed that all the rest which was equally good wasn't on it...
Ah yes, the sublime "Torches of Liberty." There are some really belting songs on that album. I remember sending my brother a postcard from New York with the lyrics to "World by Storm" written out on the back. I knew them off by heart.
There is a fan site knocking around somewhere that has downloads, but I haven't looked at it for a while.

Never mind Reidski. See you at the 35th-anniversary gigs!
Glad to see that not merely are the Mekons out and about but the Three Johns have an album out sometime in the future.

Is that the post-punk one which assiduously rips Siglo XX (!) albums amongst other things? Some interesting stuff on it.
