No, not nuff said.

Should McClaren have changed the side and tactics because of the conditions? I'd want forwards who are going to pressure defenders and work the arses off not 1 player who stands there waiting for the ball to hit him on the head. And Bridge and Cole were dogshit awful down the left.

And I thought our 3rd down conversion rate in the 1st Quarter was poor too.

Cole? Was Cole playing?

I blame Gordon Brown, we always qualified under Blair!;)

Thought the Croatians looked stronger, sharper and hungrier. And Bilic at least seemed to have a game plan that made sense on that pitch. Plus, he's a snappier dresser than McClaren, he plays in a rock band, and he has a degree in law. That's one more degree than the entire England squad.

Don't forget, though, that Bilic was a bit of a cheat when he got, um, was it Laurent Blanc sent off, going down poleaxed after a bat of the Frenchman's eyelid. Also, anyone's a snappier dresser than McClaren. Carson's shrug, after the first one went in, kind of sums the whole evening up really.

I reckon Carson thought to himself "Any other England keeper would have done the same."

As Paul Heaton said last night "Don't boo Scott Carson, he's done you a favour in the long run!"

John said...

Does he include Villa fans in that?

Martin said...

That refers , of course, to 2Liverpool's Scott Carson" as he shall be known.

Don't you think the England's Chelsea quartet played as if in the pay of the Russians? (Cue SWP funded by Russians joke).

And is anyone else worried about all the "incentives" and "rewards" being offered to players this week by bookmakers and others. The whole thing about professional football cosying up to gambling businesses stinks and will come to a messy conclusion I reckon.

Actually, I was referring to the loss of Martin O'Neill.
