I've never posted stuff on YouTube, and believe it or not this is the first time I'd seen live(ish) footage of the Three Johns ever... so, it's doubly excellent for me...
But then, back in the day that was the usual MO, wasn't it? Never saw a photo of Ian Curtis until around 1985 or so... etc, etc...
Not sure if it was deliberate policy or just lack of funds that militated against videos. You have my deepest sympathy, however, if you never saw the Johnnies live. They were the best live band I ever saw, not just for their music but for their attitude, their banter, and the laughs and entertainment they gave. I lost track of the number of times we saw them, but it was never enough.
Remind me to tell you sometime about the night they got the whole audience on stage to dance with them. :-)
