Bon Iver
For Emma Forever Ago (Jagjaguawar, 2008)
A mattress of acoustic guitars and fine percussions is all that needs the Nord American Justin Vernon to follow the track of a bit more chilled Sam Bean and embark on exploring the inner deserts without any other compass than his own intuition. Grown inside the indie folk band DeYarmond Edison, with which recorded Silent Signs, Verno has just made his solo debut with For Emma Forever Ago, crackling heartbreaking emotional altarpiece that searches bellows in the folk and in the disconcerting falsetto with which the Wisconsin artist hypnotizes his songs.
