Do They Owe Us a Tribute Band?

John Robb wonders whether it would be possible for a Crass-type band to exist today.

I don't know, John. Just tell me what we have to do to prevent it.

Hurray, couldn't agree more. We don't need a Crass, we need a Hawkwind.

Ha ha. Whatever happened to that Michael Moorcock bloke?

Why, he's still going strong, as far as I know.

"If you are making love it is imperative to bring all bodies to orgasm simultaneously, do not waste time blocking your ears."

Heh heh. I was joking Stu.

I was never a fan of his Sci-Fi. but I read Mother London, his Letters from Hollywood to J.G. Ballard, and his Retreat from Liberty which was basically his argument for anarchism. And very good too.

Your mention of Crass brought to mind the marvellous Jeffrey Lewis album of Crass covers ("12 Crass Songs").

Indeed Lisa, an album I enjoyed greatly once I'd worked out how to open it.
What John fails to mention is the fact that he bought everything Crass ever put out.

Including the two Bullshit Detector albums.

What can I say? They were cheap.

No excuses, you loved the songs.

And Nagasaki Nightmare.
