The Usual Pun About Class
A couple of interesting articles crossed my purview this morning. Whatever a purview is.
Conor McCabe has an insightful piece over at Politico.ie on the importance (and absence) of class as an explanatory category in Irish political discourse.
Over at the Stir to Action blog there's a brief interview with David Graeber on the significance (or otherwise) of academic agitation, consensus-based decision making, and the value of the university.
Enjoy.
*Update*: I forgot to mention that Conor has a book coming out at the end of June, Sins of the Fathers: Tracing the Decisions That Shaped the Irish Economy. Those familiar with Conor's writings will know to expect something enlightening, clear-sighted, and rigorous. Preview here.
