The latest scandal in Ireland involves attempts by Gardai in County Donegal to frame the members of a local family for the murder of a man who had actually been killed in a hit-and-run accident. The extent of Garda complicity, negligence, and criminality is extraordinary, as you can read in the Morris Tribunal report here, but it's also clear that Progressive Democrat TD Michael McDowell, who is trying to claim credit for the decision to set up the Tribunal, opposed calls to set it up when he was attorney general. Conveniently, he is out of the country today.
This report wasn't due to be published until the Dail was out of session next week, but someone hacked into the Tribunal's computer system and gained access to the report.
You can read more here, here, and here.
