Two Sevens Clash

Thanks to Reidski for the tag

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now, shaping your spring. Post these instructions in your blog along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they’re listening to.

By and large new stuff bought on CD, most of which can be heard on Marc Riley's Brain Surgery where I find my musical inspiration these days. I've still got two Scout Niblett CDs and the new Tindersticks to listen to yet, so this'll probably be redundant tomorrow.

"Nevada" - Scout Niblett. I've known about Scout for a fair few years without ever hearing her material. The Guardian linked to a video she did with Will Oldham recently and now I can't get enough. Saw her live in Manchester this week and was gobsmacked

"Atomsmashers" - Chris Mills. Off his new album, Living in the Aftermath, but he's been playing it live for over a year.

"The Devil's Crayon" - Wild Beasts. New single, not as weird as the earlier singles, which is a shame.

"Weather to Fly" - Elbow. Again a band that's been around a while but I've just started to get into.

"Cross Your Fingers" - Laura Marling. If she keeps this up she could be huge.

"What Is Not But Could Be If" - Silver Jews. Marc Riley has been playing this alot. Looking forward to seeing it performed live next week.

"But I Did Not" - Howe Gelb. Off the Sno'Angel LP. Unfortunately, he didn't have the gospel choir with him in Manchester last week.

And the shout goes out to Griff, Pep, Jordi, Cakes (both), Stef and, erm, Prenderghast.

I couldn't go and see Chris Mills at the 12 Bar Club last week - there was the small matter of a league title decider to watch instead.
