But "The Producers" a MUSICAL? Mel Brooks' original wasn't.... That said I quite enjoyed the film of the stage show of the film. I saw it in New York on a Christmas Day afternoon at the Ziegfeld Theatre. What I couldn't quite handle was the audience applauding the songs as if we were actually seeing a live musicial.
