Could It Be a Case of Mistaken Identity?

Justice is catching up with Karadzic. The Clock is Ticking for Mladic.

But the Guardian spots the real story: "It's a Bad Week for Alternative Medicine."

*UPDATE* He should have been found much, much quicker, of course. All they had to do was read his Web site. It even has his address on it and a slogan that looks like it was pinched from Spiked: "The ever increasing need for alternative viewpoints in the modern world."

It just goes to show, NEVER TRUST A HIPPY!

Bad day for alternative medicine, good day for common sense.

As any fule kno, Karadzic WAS Father Ted. You don't see that Dermot Morgan anymore, do you?

Graycow; as I pointed out at Never Trust a Hippy - Kardzic was NOT an alternative healer. He was a pukka, state certified, orthodox, evidence based or whatever fans of mainstream medicine such as you wish to use as the mot du jour, doctor pretending to be an aletrnative healer.

Actually he'd morphed from Father Ted into Father Jack.

Sorry, mea culpa - I didn't mean to insult you GraycRow. Only just noticed that one.

Of course, the signs were there from early on for everyone to see. If I'm not mistaken, that there "Ethnic Cleansing" is another one of those pseudoscientific New Agey ideas. He should have stuck with coffee enemas.

Ouch...

Mikeovswinton; If Karadzic had tried to practice conventional medicine, he would of been caught because people would have wanted to see his qualifications. Anyone can set themselves up as an alternative healer and start preying on the sick and the confused, all it takes is the killer instinct and he's obviously got that.

Graycrow; My point is simply this - there is no real connection between Kardzic's involvement in alternative medecine and his (disgusting) "political" activities. He only took up "alternative" "medecine" AFTER he had been involved in ethnic cleansing, when seeking for a disguise. If he had become - say -a rent collector, would that have led to conclusions about those of us who have done that for a living? (That's another job where credentials aren't required - or weren't when I did it.) Killer instinct. Hmm. The word Shipman comes to mind for some reason. And before you come back recall that it was a funeral director who twigged on that one.

And Graycrow - just to be clear - the point I am trying to make is that qualifications, the possession of them, or the lack of them, aren't the ONLY factor that needs to be taken into account in cases like this.

Mike, I am sure there are alternative healers cure people just as there are incompetent and evil doctors.
But I know people who have been attending homoeopathists for years, for psycological or phychosomatic conditions and as far as I can see there has been no improvement.
As the Guardian article says, if they get worse they are told that it's the sickness coming out. All the time the therapist continues to consult and take their money. If I go to the doctor with a difficult or persistant condition and he can't cure me he won't keep seeing me over and over (and charging all the time), he will refer me to a specailist.
Doctors are highly trained and there are clear procedures in place in the event of malpractice. My point is that anyone can set up as an alternative healer with no regulation what so ever. Karadzic WAS an alternative healer because he claimed to be one, that's all you need to do to become one.

Mike; to clrify the last post I meant to say: I am sure there are alternative healers who can cure people...
